WELCOME!

To Chaffin Church, a place for all the seasons of your life.  We are a church in the Reformed tradition meaning we take the
scriptures as the root of faith, while at the same time realizing that God is still speaking to us in new, often surprising
ways!

“Never place a period where God has placed a comma:…(Gracie Allen).”

Our search for a meaningful life in relationship to God and all people provides the energy behind our worship, educational
offerings, and social gatherings for all ages.
Much of our meaning develops in reaching out to people with deep needs in life.  Missions which feed, comfort, heal, and
call for justice and peace, are places where we are looking to make a difference in the world.
WORSHIP AT CHAFFIN

“To love God and enjoy God forever” is a phrase from an old catechism.  It says these things to define the purpose of human
beings.  Worship is one crucial element of living life with meaning, meeting the Jesus revealed in scripture.  The Holy Spirit
inspires us to be faithful witnesses, working for justice and peace for all people, serving our members, our community, and
our world with loving hands and hearts.
Worship helps us gain a more clear vision of our humanity as God intends it to be.

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not harm, to give you a future with hope!”
Jeremiah 29:11

Classic and Celebration styles are both part of the worship offerings at Chaffin Church.

MUSIC
Music is a treasured part of our life together.   We encourage all ages to participate.  We have a Senior choir, and many
individual musicians who share their gifts in varied musical styles.

Chaffin Church celebrates two sacraments.  We recognize these as sacred events established by Christ and
recorded in the Gospels.

Baptism
marks our welcome into the community of faith.  It is a sign of our belonging.  Baptism is appropriate for any age,
though infants and young children is most common.  Baptism is necessary before becoming a member of this congregation.
We honor baptism from any other Christian tradition and therefore we do not re-baptize.

Holy Communion—The Lord’s Supper is the central meal of fellowship and remembrance for the Church.  We share this
sacred meal on the first Sunday of each month and at other special times of worship.  Everyone who seeks new life in Christ
is welcome to this table.

The minister would be pleased to speak with you regarding baptism, or to answer any questions you may have about
sacraments at Chaffin Church.
