UCC-The United Church of Christ
The United Church of Christ is a truly American denomination. Since its founding in 1959 with the
historic merger of the Congregational Christian churches, and the Evangelical and Reformed Church,
the UCC has added members and congregations from dozens of nationalities and traditions.
We seek to be an inclusive church with Jesus Christ as our leader and friend, loving us and
challenging us to bring hope and justice to a hurting world.
The UCC has ministries all over the globe. We are in ecumenical relationships, with the Presbyterian
Church, USA, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the Reformed Church of America.
We have no binding creed, but value the ancient creeds of the Church, and new creeds spoken by
various voices today seeking to be faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
